Description
General
Counsellors do not specialise in any particular area and
are primarily responsible for the overall activity programme
and care of a small group of children. You are therefore
required to have extensive childcare experience.
You
do not need to be an Olympic athlete of even a certified
teacher just an individual who enjoys travel, meeting new
people, sports, activities and working outdoors in a fun
environment! To be a camp counsellor you'll need an enormous
amount of energy and enthusiasm, as it is a demanding role.
The
children will rely on you to guide them through a wide range
of activities and you must have the charisma to work with
a group as well as the sensitivity to listen to the individual.
You'll
be required to be with the children for 24 hours a day and
they will expect you to be a role model, teacher, mediator,
comedian and friend. If you have loads of energy, enjoy
working with children, and think you can make a child's
summer the best ever, then you are a PERFECT candidate!
