Connect Evolve is a non-profit organization that is dedicated
to improving the health and educational systems of the Galapagos
Islands.
By fostering
community-building interactions between residents of the
Galapagos, citizens of Ecuador, and volunteers beyond Ecuador's
borders, and by securing donations of necessary equipment,
time, and money at home and abroad,
Galapagos
ICE seeks to empower local residents to improve their educational,
medical, and economic opportunities. Founded
in 2005, Galapagos ICE realized the citizens of one of the
last paradises on earth are in need of assistance.
The
future of Galapagos is in the hands of the scientists that
work endlessly to conserve the Islands, but also in the
hands of its people who live there. Without caring for the
individuals on the Islands and providing a good education
and adequate healthcare, conservation efforts will become
harder and the future of the Islands may be in jeopardy.
Please
help us in conserving this precious part of the world, our
Galapagos Islands, by volunteering your time, and expertise
and/or donations.

The
New Era Galapagos Foundation operates year-round, and includes
three trimesters (April-June, July-September, October-December)
and a summer camp (February-March), offering programs that
focus on issues of tourism and conservation within the community
of San Cristobal and the Galapagos Islands.
Languages
available: English Volunteer for NEGF As a non-profit Foundation
made up entirely of volunteer workers, we are always looking
for individuals interested in understanding the needs and
interests of the people of San Cristobal, Galapagos.
Moreover,
we seek open-minded individuals who share our passion for
the environment and its conservation, and would appreciate
the opportunity to live and work in a natural paradise like
the Galapagos Islands. Generally, we look for individuals
specialized in one or more of the four programs we offer:
The
international volunteers play an invaluable role in our
strategy by providing residents otherwise unaccustomed to
contact with outsiders native English instruction and, more
importantly, the opportunity to develop the social and cultural
skills necessary to interact with international tourists
through intercultural exchange.
Students
and host families alike are able to establish and nurture
relationships and friendships with teachers from North America
and Europe, and develop the self-confidence and cultural
knowledge needed to deal with different cultures and languages
in a professional and friendly manner.
Volunteers
typically live with local host families, arranged by NEGF,
that enable a valuable cultural and financial exchange for
both parties.
