One Placement Organisation -

Passage-Zebra - Child Care, Community Work

Informaton

Firstly, for local volunteers, partner organization and "Passage-Zebra" each workcamp is a concrete step in a way of long term co-operation...

Age limit: 18 - 26 years old but exceptions for older volunteers are possible
Work: Usually volunteers will work about 30 hours a week (for example six hours a day about five days a week). Exceptions are mentioned in the description.
Campleaders: Usually our camps have one or two campleaders, who will facilitate the coordination between volunteers, host organisation and local community, help to organise free time activities and who are responsible for administrative and financial aspects of the camp life.

The level and intensity of contact depends entirely on the local possibilities and can be very different in different workcamps. In some camps there will be close contact to the local population and volunteers should be open for this. We cannot provide excursions to other big cities v they are quite far from each other and the time of a camp is limited. That's why we concentrate on Voronezh region which is rich in natural reserves, historical heritage, rivers, forests, architectural monuments.

Official invitations: We will need a copy of the passport/ID of a volunteer with an expiration date and date of birth. We also need to know the embassy the volunteer is going to get the visa from. According to Russian law foreigners have to get a registration in Russia during 3 working days after their arrival. PLEASE TAKE A MIGRATION CARD at the airport in Russia. Usually you get the stamp of the registration automatically in the hotel for the period of your living there. Later the registration will be done by Passage-Zebra, it takes 1 day, which a volunteer will have to spend without the passport.

Main types of volunteer projects:

RENO - different renovation work KIDS - work with children
ENVI - ecological projects
CULT/ART - helping to run all sorts of festivals, exibitions, artistic workshops
AGRI - agricultural work
