Working with children on one of our projects can be
a deeply rewarding experience; you?ll play a valuable
role in boosting their confidence and self-esteem, shaping
their lives positively for the future.

to make the world a happier place than to teach the
next generation?
Children
are the world's future leaders and they need to be treated
as such. Some have the desire to learn English; others
might require a higher education and others might just
need some care and laughter. You can give that to them.

FACTS
-
Every year, more than 10 million children die from totally
preventable deaths. The world knows what it takes to
improve child health and survival but millions still
die because they lack access to these basic services.
- In May 2002, 189 countries met at the United Nations
in New York culminated in an international agreement
on protecting and promoting children's rights, called
A World Fit for Children.
- More than 17 million Africans have died from AIDS
and another 25 million are infected with the HIV virus,
approximately 1.9 million of whom are children.
- Worldwide, it is estimated that more than 15 million
children under 18 have been orphaned as a result of
AIDS. More than 12 million of these children live in
Sub-Saharan Africa, where it is currently estimated
that 9% of all children have lost at least one parent
to AIDS. By 2010, it is predicted that there will be
around 15.7 million AIDS orphans in Sub-Saharan Africa.
