"I was so lucky to stay with a wonderful host family, they made me so welcome and at home, helping me wherever possible if i needed it. I will definitely keep in contact with them. The guys Tom and Fred from Inspire were totally great keeping up to date with me and checking that I was ok. They were so helpful would go out of their way to make the experience as worthwhile as possible Tom organised the booking of my Masai Mara safari, travel and accommodation afterwards. The whole thing went without a hitch other than my 10 hour bus journey back to Mombassa, but that's the fun of traveling around Kenya it wouldn't be the same if we arrived on time without having a bumpy journey!" "I would like to say that the experience has been in all senses wonderful. The family I stayed with, Sophie and Daniel and family, are great and we have become friends. I have been treated in a great manner all the time. The experience at school is priceless. The kids are so welcoming, so intelligent, so eager to learn, that it has been so motivating for me to teach them. The Inspire Kenya staff were also great. Both Tom and Steve took great care of me whenever needed, were always friendly, with a smile, and solved any problem had very diligently."

"Everything has been perfect. I had a lot of expectations and, because of that, I suspected that it wouldn't be that good. But I was wrong, despite all the ideas that I had, the experience has defied the imagination. Since I arrived and Lucy, John, Steve (I only saw him that time) and Halima came to pick me up to the airport until my plane took off, I have enjoyed a lot. I was working at Kenya Times during one month. It was very instructive because I am journalist, and I could take part of local journalism and learn a lot of things about the country and politics in the pre elections period. KT staff were, also, very welcoming people. My only handicap was the English, because it forced me to depend on someone else and impeded me to write properly. But they helped me and I could publish several reports. But I repeat that I am more than happy with my experience and I would recommend it to everyone. Kenya is a country full of wonderful things and I have spent there the best time of my life."

"I spent several months looking for a volunteer program in East Africa. Unfortunately, many either were out of my price range or did not provide the experience I was hoping to achieve. I wanted to participate in a volunteer program that would allow me to better understand the needs of the region and to be able to make a difference. Inspire-Kenya provides that type of experience and makes it available to those who want to lend a hand, but may not have endless funds to do so. The organization is small and operates with local staffing that provides a unique opportunity. It is not your usually large volunteer organization that may be out of touch with local needs. Inspire-Kenya representatives were excellent. They were patient and knowledgeably in answering all my questions as I try to understand some of the issues facing the region. They took incredible care of me and showed me parts of Kenya I never imagined I would see. It was a life changing experience."
